Assalamu alaikum, not sure if they were talking about the hijab or niqab? The article didn’t seem to be clear on this.

The case involved a niqab. In fact, the Shari’a does in fact allow a woman who wears niqab to remove it to give testimony as her identity needs to be known (and in other cases, such as when doing business).

Brother Yusuf is right. I think a lot of women who wear niqab, with all of the fighting for our rights, often forget that there are instances where it is justified to remove it. You can’t play around with the court system and witnessing.
