It’s hard to believe that The Gambia & Senegal are not the best of good neihbours. This poor relation is withholding the economic growth of both countries and the region as a whole. Politicians must put aside their political difference and work for the betterment of the common poeple.
    God bless us all.

Having lived in the Gambia for about a decade, I could fathom the distinction between Gambia-Senegal relationship then and now. In those days, one could recall a very smooth, peaceful and cordial relationship between the two countries. In those days, there were contoversies but mainly over trivial issues which were often settled within twinkle of an eye.

I personally would tell anyone anywhere I go about Gambia’s hospitable and loving gestures. In the Gambia, as a non-citizen I felt at home. Even now I still see Gambia as my second home.

However, in view of my perception about the Gambia and the issue on the floor right now, I truly believe one thing; “You can be everybody’s favorite, brother or friend as long as you present yourself pitied before them them but once you rise up to take your place in contributing your own qouta towards global advancement as a rational being, many of these people would begin rise up against you. This is normal, natural in our everyday lives. Imagine Gambia without T. V station, University, Modern Airport Terminal and other infrastructures you could see today …………….. I think Senegal as a big brother should celebrate with Gambia and settle their differences as members of the same family without much ado.

Historically, culturally and custom wise Gambia and Senegal are two brothers of the the same parents with slight differences in physiques. I do hear them say: Gambia and Senegal “Mboka Ndey and Mbai” Where is that slogan? Still exist?

I think it’s high time we should all look deep into the mystries behind the whole issues and quickly come to a term as brothers. We are talking about the great need for Africa’s solidarity and unity but let us not forget that charity begins at home.

Long live! Gambia. Long live! Senegal, Long live! Africa ,my motherland. I love you all.

    hello fellow gambian senegal people

i feel that gambia and senegal are the same people in the name of allah
everyone should start loving one another, defend one another and unite as one
for the benifit of our children.
are children are watching everyone and learning and we dont need them to behave as if we are separate from one another
allah said love one another and that is what we all need to live as if we have sense
    enough to do that
gambia and senegal need each other
lets all show and earn each others respect we are all good people.
ifeel senegal people need to stop embarrising gambia in the airport when taking there flights in dakar we dont deserve that …………………………………..

I am actually a gambian but according to my biografy, I was burn in senegal whiles my father was living in gambia .inshort, half of our populations were burned the sam e way, or (parents). So, i fill confused some times if i hear such. But i think we are losing some things everyday for more than 3 decdes and we dont tend to realise its importance: History ,Culture .the more we lose them , the more we look for the foreing one, that does accually not helping our society.I would ought the two ministry concern should engage on programes that would strenthten the already weak relasion existing. two people can only be best friend only if they have comon interest .Why cant our leaders go for those that forms our history and mentain unite our cultures.
